Rules
We want to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience and feels safe in #photographers while learning new techniques and the art of photography. The privclass "dAseniors" designates senior members of deviantART who may be able to help you with deviantART-related issues. The privclass "PhotoGurus" designates members who have demonstrated professional or proficient knowledge and understanding in their chosen genres of photography; they are ideal to go to for advice as a first line approach.

Although this is a photography-themed channel, general conversation is also welcome. Please help out other users by sharing your knowledge of photography and answering their questions to the best of your ability. Treat each other with mutual respect. Do not use #photographers to threaten, harass, stalk, abuse others or hack their accounts.

Chatting / General Conduct In #photographers.

• Avoid excessive shouting (use of all-caps) or flooding (continuous posting of repetitive text) in #photographers. Along this track, do not post large emoticons, such as the llama, as these flood the screen by taking up multiple lines, which disrupts conversation. Similarly, posting a large paragraph of text also floods the screen, so we ask that you not do things that visually interrupt the chatroom. Please do not spam with links, links to deviations and/or thumbnails or other channels. Spamming will always result in a ban. If you want to promote your deviations,  please use #thumbsshare. #Photographers is a channel to discuss photography and meet other photographers, not to advertise your work.

• Be considerate and don't be an annoyance to others. Racist Slurs, anti-Semitic or other derogatory remarks about philosophies and religions, as well as highly offensive and hostile remarks based on gender or sexual preference will result in a kick and/or ban from #photographers.
• Threatening, directly insulting, or harassing your fellow chatters is prohibited and can result in an immediate ban from the chatroom at the discretion of moderators.
• Do not ask A/S/L or any variations of this, we are here to discuss art, age/sex/location is irrelevant.
• Do not ask or beg for comments or favorites on your work. 

• If you were banned, do not create multiple accounts and/or come in on your other existing accounts. You cannot avoid a ban. If you are caught doing so, you will be banned on all accounts, and the ban will be lengthened or made permanent.
•  #Photographers is English only. Please refrain from speaking in other languages which comprise an entire conversation. This rule has been enacted to make moderation possible in all instances, as staff obviously cannot moderate a language they cannot understand. This rule will not be changed, so please do not complain.
  
•  Do not post links which contain pornography (Mature deviations, deviations in the artistic nude category excluded; however, pornographic images uploaded as deviations are not)--Do not post links which may contain viruses, links to pornographic images or text and links to a +devwatch or +favorite (example: my. deviantart.com/deviants/add/Username or www. deviantart.com/favourite/#######/)

• Members are allowed to post thumbnails in the instance that they are seeking some critique on a new piece or wish advice; however, please ask permission first. Thumbing for the sole purpose of receiving favs or pageviews is frowned upon. Constant spamming of thumbs will result in a ban.

 Keep it legal

•  We do not allow any illegal activities. We are not responsible for anything you say in the chatroom, or for any consequences that arise from what you say. If you break the law, you alone will be responsible for the consequences.
  
• You cannot use #photographers to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, sexual, or other unlawful material, images, text, or information.

Protect your privacy

•  We caution you against giving out personally identifiable information (such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, names and addresses, telephone numbers and driver license numbers) to strangers online, as this information may be used for illegal or harmful purposes.
