first #photographers riddle

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 11, 2006, 4:07 PM
Order a quick reverse bite of Sophistication, Enquiry and Survival there.
.... was the first #photographers riddle.

1st right answer by: =SCM (will be featured in #photographers' topic)
2nd right answer by: ~george-kay (will be featured in #photographers' topic)
3rd right answer by: =cybergranny (will receive a one month sub)

Reversing the order of the words and googling for Survival, Enquiry and Sophistication helps to find this nice piece of text:

(...) Arthur took to his bed to flip through Ford's copy of The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy. Since he was going to have to live in the place, he reasoned, he'd better start finding out something about it.
He came accross this entry.
It said: The history of every major galactic civilization tends to pass through three distinct and recognizable phases, those of Survival, Enquiry and Sophistication, otherwise known as the How, Why and Where phases.
'For instance, the first phase is characterized by the question How can we eat?, the second by the question Why do we eat?, and the third by the question Where shall we have lunch?'
He got no further before the ship's intercom buzzed into life.
'Hey, Earthman? You hungry, kid?' said Zaphod's voice.
'Er, well yes, a little peckish I suppose,' said Arthur.
'OK baby, hold tight;' said Zaphod. 'We'll take in a quick bite at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe.'

which is the end of the last page of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy' by Douglas Adams. The Restaurant at the End of the Universe is also the second book in the Hitchhiker series.

Hope you had some fun! More riddles will follow!

Cheers,

Or in my case my mind went off on a weird tangent much like some of the late, great Douglas Adams plot lines and came up with the answer from nowhere.

Mind you being a fan of the The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy it might just have been my mind realised somewhere in it's dark depths what the answer was and said go for it.

As this was a hard riddle to get and congrats to the others that got it, as it was driving people mad this riddle.
